On April 12, 2025.. Melissa & Tylor began their new chapter of life, marriage, by celebrating intimately in the Alabama Mountains.

Hey there, I'm Elizabeth Jones, wedding planner & event coordinator of EJ Events. Serving Alabama couples & beyond to bring dream wedding days to life. Melissa & Tylor found me in January of 2024 and we began their journey of planning an intimate wedding weekend to celebrate their true, everlasting love.

The Alabama Mountain Wedding Vision

These lovebirds wanted their wedding weekend getaway to exude who they are as individuals and as a couple. The venue chosen was inside an Alabama state park. Rustic elements, nature, and exceptional mountain views. Their dream was to spend the weekend hiking trails within the state park, sharing memories with their favorite people, relaxing, and celebrating.

Melissa & Tylor wanted their wedding to embody the nature and intimacy that you feel when you're in the Alabama mountains. They envisioned a rustic, elegant event inspired by the surrounding nature. The couple chose shades of green & cream to be their wedding colors and wanted floral elements to be the spotlight of the celebration.

The wedding ceremony took place behind the stone lodge with floral arrangements throughout the aisle and on the stone wall to enhance the background for the ceremony. After saying "I Do!", Melissa & Tylor posed for their bride & groom portraits on the Bald Rock Trail with an incredible view of the surrounding mountains & valleys. The two joined their guests for a candlelit dinner and danced the night away creating unforgettable memories.

Their Love Story

"When we matched on the dating app, Bumble, we had almost given up on dating. Tylor, who had just been in Florida celebrating his sister's wedding, told his mother that he was ready to give up on Birmingham and move back to Baltimore. Five days later he was on his last first date with Melissa. Our first date was like being home, it was so comfortable and there was this instant depth to the conversation. We shared stories and laughs over Old Fashioneds and a Carrigans corndog. Soon after our first date, Melissa was off to Utah for a girl's trip and Tylor was off to North Carolina for a climbing competition. Despite saying we would see each other again after those trips, we couldn't stay away, and we saw each other almost every day before Melissa left. Since that first date, we have continued to grow together; tackling home ownership, fostering seven dogs, multiple twenty-mile hiking events, climbing days, lifting competitions, trips, projects, and so much more. We have built a life and relationship based on honesty, love, laughter, and lots of corny jokes." - Tylor & Melissa

The couple celebrated their love together with 40 of their friends and family on a weekend getaway in the mountains at Cheaha State Park. The same place where they spent their first Valentine’s day together. At the highest point in Alabama, they vowed to love unconditionally and enjoy the little things forever. Melissa & Tylor together with their families, hosted a welcome dinner, a wedding ceremony, a cocktail hour and reception, and a morning-after brunch throughout the weekend for their guests to attend at Bald Rock Lodge. They enjoyed many special moments, heartfelt speeches, laughter, and dancing. It was the weekend of their dreams and the best start to their new journey together.
